1×52, Week 10: k8ee as a start-your-own-photo-project
Week 10′s project is simple: I converted the main theme of my photoblog from promoting my own work, to inspiring others to start photoblogs, too.
k8ee.com is a daily photo project I started back in May. I wanted to learn photography, and thought that a good way to learn might be to start a photoblog – and try to post a new photo every day. That’s not quite as taxing as it sounds – I don’t actually have to take a photo every day, since I can schedule posts. It’s just enough to push me to keep taking photos regularly – taking my camera along for hikes and visits to the farmer’s market. I’ve really enjoyed this project! I get a lot of joy from taking photos, and looking back through them, processing them in Photoshop to improve even more. And then getting to see every day what photo is posted.
Anyway, enough about me – this has been a cool and successful enough project that it’d be fun to encourage others to do the same.
So, I started changing around the pages and languages, adding content to more center the site around inspiring others. I added a “Learn with Me” page. It includes reasons why I really liked this project for myself, plus books and resources to start a photoblog like mine. I included details about the software I used for the site - WordPress, as for this one, with the Autofocus theme – to help point people in the right direction if they’re interested.
If you’d like to start your own photoblog and have more questions about the setup, please ask me! :)
