1×52, Week 7: Zoikle, a productivity app

Hi there! This week, I started building Zoikle – it’s a productivity app to help manage time, while staying social. Here’s the landing page screenshot:

I’m very excited about Zoikle! I really want to do this one right, so I’ll be devoting much of my time to this project, putting most of the other projects on the back burner. Though, GUIFree will stay ON, so please sign up here if you’re interested in being more productive with your Mac!

Among other things that are still on: this 1×52 project. Hey, I’m not a quitter! I’ve found it really helpful to build self-imposed deadlines. For instance, I have a daily photo project going on on k8ee.com. Knowing that I have to have a new, good photo to post every day has given me something to look forward to, and has motivated me to keep taking pictures. And in the meantime, I’ve discovered a great new hobby that gets me adventuring and running around outside!

So, back to the 1×52 project: I’ll still be posting a new project every week, though a “project” will probably be something more like learning a new technology, or exploring a new skill, usually relevant to improving on my current open projects. “1×52″ was a bit like speed app-starting (think speed dating) for me, so I’ll be app-dating Zoikle now, at least for a while. :)

I’m being a bit secret about exactly what Zoikle does, since I’ve just started it and it’ll probably change quite a bit before I actually launch. Please sign up for updates if you’re interested in the general idea! And, if you’d like to help shape development, you can follow Zoikle on Twitter to… errr… “join the conversation”. :)

So, what do you think of the name Zoikle? I love how playful it is, though think it’s something people can remember?
