Update: Jambx Day 2
So I posted Jambx.com on Hacker News, Facebook, Twitter, and here. That (mostly HN) led to around 300 pageviews, but only two signups, one of which didn’t confirm by email. One “jam” (it’s not a tweet, it’s a jam), which was only a test post to see if hashtags and @ references work. Yikes. ChoreoShare isn’t getting traction yet, either. You’ve really got to have a thick skin to build products and believe in them, give them love while no one else is paying attention to them.
I spent some time today rebranding jambx – here’s design #2. It’s my first attempt at a few things – a fluid layout, a CSS3 design, and an HTML5 structure (eventually, as I’m cleaning up the code bit by bit). The layout and code isn’t perfect – it does really bug me to have something so “buggy” that’s live (it probably really doesn’t work in Internet Explorer, for instance) - but such is the woe of an MVP, I believe. If I have it live, it’ll be more of a push to make it super awesome more quickly, than if it were just sitting somewhere unshared and unfinished.
The plan right now is to keep coding, keep working on a killer (yet simple) UI, work on the coolness factor, and hope the site starts getting some eyeballs.
