Will yours stay unwritten?
As a kid, I received this glorious book-making kit. Whoa, THRILL!
I waited for a while to bind it. I wanted the book to be a masterpiece, and I didn’t want to mess it up by writing anything subpar.
After a while, I finally bound the book – before writing in it, figuring I’d write in it later.
I never did.
I grew up. And when it got to the point that I didn’t care that I had this cool blank bound book, I tossed it. Along with pristine sets of art supplies that I hadn’t wanted to mess up, either (be sure though, that I had tons of other supplies I DID use, as I was a crafting machine!).
This is my lesson for the rest of my life: not to let my book go unwritten. To dare to make mistakes. To allow things to exist in their imperfect state. To write that book!
Today, my challenge is to attend to all 32 drafts sitting in this blog. To wrap up as many lose ends as I can, in 24 hours. Because imperfections are what allow me to grow, and to get things done.
Cheers, to the beauty in both my imperfections and yours.
Emelina, I’m giving my inspirer inspiration – what a compliment!
I’ve really lived this recently, too, pushing out some ideas that I’ve had on the back burner for a long time, through the discomfort of the naggy it’s-not-ready feeling. Thanks for all your encouragement, seriously – you rock!
I LOVE this! Hell Yeah to Imperfections and just creating and getting stuff out there and not letting our insecurities holding us back! Love it! Love it! You’re giving me life inspiration.
